  1. Anyone know what the standard exhaust gasket sizes are? In particular the Y pipe ones? cheers
  2. Bit worried about all these dodgy fittings now!! My K1 arrived this morning as well as a Magen Y pipe, hoping that it fits ok :S Chris
  3. Logically in my head (having never tried it, but covered stuff with Alcantara) I would agree. There arent too many tight bends so shouldnt need much heating and stretching for the most part. Seeing Colins "fangs" on his 370z, you certainly can do complex curves if you know what you are doing, some serious skill involved though! You are both right i reckon, problem with carbon is keeping the weave as straight as possible. Cast vinyl is VERY forgiving so stretching / skewing isnt really a problem with a little heat, its just a case of keeping the weaves straight with the carbon stuff. i think places like the number plate recess and in front of the headlights the weave may stretch slightly but should still look awesome!! I am going to be wrapping my beetle with matt black but wish i'd did this first now!
  4. Cheers mate, i was dreading the weave going out of shape but luckily I didnt need to heat it up too much. I think some of hte other panels may be different though!
  5. No worries, will take a pic tomorrow in the daylight! Chris
  6. A guide would be a very good thing to do / have but so many signwriters have different techniques for doing it, remember it is a trade as well so some people may struggle to achieve what they want (for example I am @*!# at woodwork so wouldnt attempt to cut a bit of wood in a straight line, i'd leave it to those who know!!!!). Bonnet next I think, then front wings and doors!!
  7. I thnk the roof is about 1 metre by 1.4 off the top of my head!
  8. cheers chaps, wel happy with the end result so far! Maz0 - in all vinyl cost wise i reckon around £500 ish for the whole car plus my time which who knows how longs its going to take!! rtbiscuit - definitely right mate, the mirrors are a bitch! Done one of them perfectly but didnt realise the glass sits right in the casing so you can see the end of the vinyl inside the mirror. Think i've mastered it though but me fingers got sore so gave up with that! Roof wasnt too bad to do, the curves towards the front outer corners and deeper than it looks to begin with though but hardly had to heat it up to get it to settle! srobrien - not surely exactly for the cost of that bit as I bought a 10 metre roll!! Chris
  9. Had a day off today to sort a few bits out and thought i'd make a start on the roof!! Been signwriting for years but never really been into the vinyl wrapping stuff so thought i'd give it a go! I'm using the 3m Di Noc vinyl. Roof is now completed and very happy with the result, took about an hour and a half and there no stretches on the weave either!! Few pics below!! Not sure what part to do next, sides should be ok to do, just a bit worried about the bonnet as its massive!!!! Attempted the mirror quickly but got bored and ended up making a mess of it!! Aiming to get the whole car wrapped before Le Mans in June! Chris
  10. Should have let me know mate or put a wanted add up!! I've been making plates for years and can make any size / shape etc!!
  11. I'm interested in all four mate . Can you pm me what sort of money you'd like for them? thanks Chris
  12. I like them mate, what sizes / offset are they?
  13. Ill see what price I can work out. I bought a limousine from the US about 5 years ago and stacked the container up with Summit Racing goodies for my track car!!!! I'll look into pricing! Chris
  14. Those Phantoms are lovely!! How much are they in teh states?! Just remembered im going there very soon so may see about shipping them back!!!!!!! Those reps do nothing for me, as said above you do get what you pay for!!
  15. Spacers are looking superb, even tempted to keep my Rays now and go this route (cant find any wheels I like!!). What is the widest spacer you can go without causing any rubbing issues? I see on my350z that 30mm's are available, would this width be ok? Chris
  16. Indeed GTS's or the GT-U's i quite fancied. Ah well back to the drawing board!!
  17. Not so much saving, its persuading the missus to waste that much money on wheels!! Looked into second hand ones but as you say rare as you like. Sarnie - Every tom dick has Rota's over here now, wanted something different. I've seen some Axis Wheels on my350z which seem cheaper but not sure of the availability over here. Just seen the Linea Corsa's rarerims has, mmmm.!!
  18. As above i want to buy a set of alloys for my Z but cannot find any i like except for the Volk Racing range, which are silly money and out of budget!!! Are there any wheels out there that are similar to the Volks style wheels? I'd want an offset around 12 - 15, 10x19, similar to the Volk GTSs (deep dished 5 spoke). Chris
  19. Ok brilliant thanks, somebody else mentioned the Eibach kit as it goes! So is this all I will need suspension wise? Coilies and Camber kit? What about the front of is coilovers the only thing?

    Wrap it up!

Going to be doing a wrap on my Z in the next few weeks, never done it before but have been signwriting etc for years now. Been spending a lot of time on the net looking at techniques etc and the one above is the way I was going to do it (some do it different ways). Just got to choose what colour / type to do it!! Carbon Fibre is top of the list at the moment!!
  21. Ah I see what you mean regarding the differences between the two now!! With the camber what are my options? (my knowledge is fairly limited when it comes to suspension!). I've bought the Z now so will work out money's etc (just paid over £1200 for a new lounge floor!!!!) and hopefully get a set ordered from you next week!
  22. Cheers mate, well happy with it, got home a while back and had a good hoot driving back!! Drives sooo much nicer than my last one (which I thought was superb as well!!). Thanks again Chris
  23. MeisterR - thanks for the info mate, will these coilovers definitely give me that kind of ride height? Will I need to buy anything extra like rear arms etc etc? Also how easy are they to adjust ride height? Is it a case of jacking up and winding the coil up/down as per Gaz coilovers (had these on my track XR2). Cheers Chris
  24. Yeah they look like the puppies!!! Just found this.... http://fatlace.com/hellaflush/dope-fres ... ssics.html Is that all they have on the car or will they differnet arms etc as well?
