Stretched tyres ALL DAY LONG!!!!! Not keen on fatty tyres!!! Wont be for a while though as i've got a garden to do up first (so the missus says!!)

Window tints are definitely the next thing on the list. As for the kit i'm steering clear, i'm going to go for the extra low stretched tyre look me thinks!!

Bit more progress this weekend, completed the other side today and did the rear bumper. Not happy with the rear bumper, found it very difficult getting the vinyl into the numberplate recess, even with the comformability of this stuff. Will be redoing again at some point soon. All thats left is the front bumper, plus I will be redoing a couple of the other ones!! few pics.... Chris

The roof was the first panel I had, is ok for most of it but the front corners you need to use a bit of heat. Been signwriting for years so have a bit of knowledge which helped me out so not sure how easy it would be for someone who has never used vinyl before. The stuff isnt cheap so mistakes can be expensive! Chris

As you may know i've been wrapping my 350Z in carbon vinyl and I have some bits and pieces left over that are surplus to requirements! Will be ideal for interior parts, laptops, anything really!!!! The vinyl is the proper 3M Di Noc vinyl and is the best out there. Very easy to use with a bit of practice and looks superb (see the media section for pics of my car wrapped in it) Anyway below are the sizes and prices. Well bit of a large picture update! Managed to get most of one side completed. Very happy with the results, considering its my first wrap attempt!! Learning more and more every time I do it how the vinyl works etc. Will be redoing a couple of earlier panels I did as I think I can get them perfect! Few pics...... Next up i'll finish the sideskirt so one side is done, then work on the other then attempt the dreaded bumpers!!!! I'm going to be putting a load of carbon vinyl up for sale later tonight, all different shapes and sizes as I have got loads leftover i wont be using! Chris

Still in 2 minds, the smoothness of the tailgate does look really smart. Once the whole wrap is done i'll see how it looks. Tempted to tint the rear lights and have a real dark look to it!!

I do like that!! Those stripes on the lower doors really suit it!

Well stage 3 is here!! Managed to get the tailgate done today. What a pig!! Had to stretch the vinyl over 20cm to cover in one hit!! Looks really good though, noticed a small tear by the wiper but managed to cover it up. Going to do above the doors tomorrow if I can as it looks a bit odd from the side at the moment! Going to stick the 350z badge back on and maybe my company logo on the other side, but will probably leave the burger off!! Now got to decide whether to leave the spoiler off or put it back on again! What about a sticker on the bumper slightly smaller?

GT4 Zed - as said above Ebay sells it but make sure its the proper 3M Di Noc cast vinyl and nothing other (only comes 1220mm wide). If you want to wait nearer to when i can do it I can make sure I have enough on my roll to sell you? SpursMadDave - I'll be hitting the interior soon, particularly the centre console! What bit did you find difficult to do out of interest (so know what im up with!!)? As you say the blue looks lovely, especially in the Sun, but at the end of the day its only vinyl so can always be removed without a problem. I may decide 6 months down the line to do a complete colour change!!!!

I live in Wickford so only down the road from Bas. I'm busy for the next couple of weekends then going to Uzbekistan for a week with work (dont ask!!) but will be free after that. You will need around a metre of the stuff for the roof. Sorry but not doing the mirrors!!

GT4 Zed - was toying with a to tone theme but as its my first wrap attempt i'm gonna cover the lot!! Mainly for Le Mans as last time I went in my old car it covered in stone chips due to the ummm, enthusiastic driving!!!! I'm in Essex mate! RTBiscuit - cheers, indeed a bitch to do!! The mirror isnt perfect and will be doing it again, but for the time being i'm not going to attempt it again anytime soon!!!

Spent another couple of hours on the carbon wrap yesterday and managed to get the bonnet done. Very pleased with it. As the vinyl only comes in 1220mm wide it had to be warmed up / stretched to cover the complete bonnet without any joins. Stretched better than I thought, the weave slightly curves at the top corners of the bonnet but apart from that its 100% spot on! Not bad for a first attempt. Big thanks to Matt (From A to Z) for being my hot air gun bitch!! Next up is the tailgate, removed the spoiler this morning ready for its wrap. Still in 2 minds whether to keep the spoiler off or put back on after?! Fitted my K1 exhaust and Y pipe as well!! Chris

Definitely get new gaskets, I won my K1 on ebay and Japspeed werent helpful at all when calling them asking if they will sell me gaskets seperately. Bought them from Exhausts UK in the end. I had issues with clearance where the Y pipe joined so had to use a smaller rounder exhaust rubber to sort this. Had it on a week now and love it! Bungs are in at the moment and actually prefer the sound of them! With them out its just a joke really!!!!

As above i've decided at present not to chuck too much money at the Z due to having to chuck some money at the house / garden / decorating / holidays etc!! So, decided to keep the original wheels but get some 30mm spacers from the US, then lower her on lowering springs rather than coilovers etc..... I'm never going to be tracking the car and its barely used other than a quick blast at the weekend. What i'd like to know is what are the lowest lowering springs on the market and what sort of drop can I achieve without having to buy coilovers, arms etc etc.... Is 30 / 40mm achievable? Chris

lol, yes mate the bungs are out, havent even tried it with them in!! Definitely going to though, drove about 10 miles this morning and my head was about to explode!! Sounds awesome on full tap though!!

As above had my K1 and Y pipe fitted today and my god its loud!! Sounds fappin awesome. Only problem is i've got to drive up to the Lake District in a few weeks (300 miles each way) and the missus isnt too pleased with the noise!!!! I said i'll buy her some ear defenders but it didnt go down too well!!! Anyway i got the bungs with the exhaust as well but havent tried fitting them yet but was wondering will it silence it enough or do they just cut out a small amount of noise? Not too sure what they exactly do?! Chris

Fitted my K1 and Y pipe today, fitting is awful!!! There was initially no clearance where the exhaust joins the y pipe, had to use a smaller exhaust rubber to hold the exhaust higher so it doesnt foul! All done now though with no vibrations, fook me its LOUD though!! Didnt think it would be that loud!! Cant even heat the Popcharger anymore!

Already said to the chap i'll have it once we've seen the pic, so not breaking the rules myself Chris
