  1. aah yeah i remember! this was before i had fitted the new wheels. I had just put the coilovers on and was taking it out to test it. As i pulled up to the lights i heard a god awful noise (hence why i didnt spank it away like you did) , i @*!# myself and crept it down the road and pulled over to check what it was. turned out it was just the camber of the road catching the splitter I like the wheels but the tyre stretch not so much! ...and Nankings oooooh - i just said a dirty word
  2. Yet you have aussie genes in you lol.... come on rich Twobears... stop moaning we live in the Uk.... what do you expect She not Scottish though - we don't know what the sun looks like up here!
  3. Mate, people that own the cars have tried to give you advice. You have had people give their opinions, another guy saying he went to buy it but there were suspicious circumstances but you are still keen on it. You now need to make a decision. Asking the same questions on here is not going to get you anywhere. The RAC/AA want near £400 to do an inspection which on a CAT damaged car would give you some piece of mind. Add that to the price you paying and tax difference etc and any value you are looking for is lost. The cars are expensive to run and replacement parts aren't cheap either. If you can afford a little extra outlay initially, you may avoid problems later. With the CAT car you are taking a gamble and it is your decision to make. Nobody on here can reassure you and tell you everything is going to be alright. Good luck with your decision!
  4. Go talk to them and ask. THey might offer to go halfers with you and let you keep the rear tyres for the front as spares or replacement when the time comes?
  5. Zingy is his bedtime hug toy because I am more and more convinced that Smudgy is a 12 year old boy.
  6. Well VIk54's car for a start. OK, it is £750 over but at least you know you are getting a car that not only looks immaculate but has been well looked after and is mechanically sound. It falls in the cheaper tax bracket which will save you those few extra pennies you put out on it. This is only one example. Not too mention Vik's car has been given the bulge etc to make it looks like the 2007 facelift model!
  7. Uh oh! Mixed treads across the axles - you better hope Ekona doesn't read this thread!
  8. Pre-March 2006 is the lower tax, that one will be £475 by a matter of 2 months (virtually to the day). What a pisser! You said it!
  9. Personally, I wouldn't touch it but its you who is going to be driving it - maybe! There are better examples out there for only a little more money.
  10. Some people have way too much time but still
  11. Thanks mate - typed in the imei and it seems you are right! I will leave it on here for a day or two incase anybody on here wants a shot at it first!
  12. It is on o2 but not upgraded the firmware incase somebody wanted to jailbreak it. Cheers Lee - there are a few on ebay at £240 etc with 2 days left so it is pretty competitively priced. Also it is like a new phone
  13. THe gas struts really only hold it open mate - he means that when he puts the put up it is falling of its own accord. If your boots stays up, you are not missing out on anything
  14. £500 is not too bad and hey, that's why insurance is there. The missus will be giving you a hard time about your gash driving though
  15. That's the one guys!!!
  16. Do you have a spoiler on? If so this is a common problem due to the extra weight. There is a thread somewhere that names a company who will regas your OEM struts to take the extra weight I'll try find it.
  17. Take some pictures and I am sure some experienced members will try and access the damage and try to cost parts for you Get the insurance to pay out for yours and I will let you buy mine Is the zed your daily driver?
  18. It may or may not be driver error - they may genuinely have been something on the road. Did you go and look? I only ask because I have known several people jump into cars like the zed or elises from FWD less powerful hatchbacks that have this happen to them within the fist month or so of driving. I hope it is a relatively easy fix for you mate
  19. viewtopic.php?f=41&t=63521&hilit=gt4 If you are looking to buy - possible bargain to be had here!
  20. Ouch - less that a month ownership. That has to hurt! The non ray wheels can be picked up pretty cheap but if you need a passenger side respray and axle work the bill will quickly start to mount. Perhaps claiming on your insurance will be more viable. Maybe take some pictures underneath and people on here can point out whats broke and costings to fix. On a side note I am sympathetic to your situation and can only imagine how gutted you will be feeling but is this your first powerful rear wheel drive? What have you come from?
  21. Hello all, My girlfriend has just upgraded to the iPhone 4S and is putting her black iPhone 4 16GB up for sale. I said I would thrown it on here and offer someone a stab at it incase they were looking for one. It is in as new condition because it was replaced through her insurance 4 months ago after her friend spilled a drink in her bag and ruined her old one. It has always had a screen protector on it and has no marks. Comes with box and all standard accessories £250
