  1. Hi all, I have been wondering for a while why my steering wheel looked different to a lot of you guys standard ones, even though my one still has Nissan badge on it... Can anyone shed any light as to what mine is? Thanks,
  2. Remote start baby!! Set the car to full heat and directed at the windscreen, heated seats on. 10 minutes before getting in, press my buttons and off she goes! Getting into a warm car with warm seats FTW!
  3. Hi Guys, I have a 2003 JDM and I am getting a bit of a squeak on startup for the first minute or so while the engine is warming up. The cars on 40k miles. I am thinking that maybe the ancilliary belts might be coming to the end of their life? Does this sound feasable as I believe the 350 does not have a timing belt, so would not be that? If so, is the JDM and Uk car the same part no? Does anyone have this to hand and a price? Thanks all, David
  4. Hi all... getting fed up witht he amount of stone chips on the front and the small dent I have on the back of my blade. Does anyone have a set that they have upgraded to a bodykit? Cash waiting.... Thanks all, David
  5. Got mine on Saturday. Thank you very much- does exactly what it is supposed to. David
  6. Ahh... just what I need to stop my Disklok from sliding forward and hitting me on the head at each set of lights. How do I pay you? Thanks David
  7. Hi Paul- I am from Essex and was wondering if you could do this to my JDM 2003 HID lights? I would want the orange reflector removed (maybe painted grey?) and the LED's installed. How much would I be looking at for this work to be done? Also- do you provide any sort of garuntee on the life of the LED's? I know they are pretty durable and your work looks top notch, but things can always go wrong! Thanks, David
  8. Thanks very much then- Ill give that a go! David
  9. Thanks very much for that... Now... any ideas on how to get the rounded one off! ;-)
  10. Hi Guys, Was changing my rear brakes on my import 350z (non brembo) earlier and unfortunatly damaged the caliper guide bolt on one of the capliers. If I go to a dealer do they sell them seperatley and what calipers in the range would be the same as the 350z? I heard somewhere that a certain model had the same pads, so probably same caliper? Anyone remember what one? Thanks all, David
  11. Hey guys- Update: I tried that programming the fob using the manual, and as steve3000 correctly pointed out, did not work for my car. I ended up getting my circuit tester out and poking around the BCM module and pressing the remot button at the same time to see what did what! I eventually found a small thin brown wire coming out of the middle connector plug (there are about 4 plugs on this box) that when negatived would not allow a signal from the fob to reach the car. I cut this wire and it had the same effect. The little rat now cannot gain access to my car other than by breaking the window, in which case he may aswell just do that to any car, so hopefully i have detered him enough! Anyhow- just thought I would share my findings if anyone was interested!
  12. Hi, according to the Nissan service manual that I have got (from 350z-tech) for an '03 model that is correct- just hope it works!
  13. Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. I think I have come up with the most cost effective solution. I am going to replace the door cylinder lock (£28 from nissan with 2 keys, which will mean different key for manual door entry and ignition, but who uses manual key anyway?), and then I am going to set up the key fob that I have left with my ECM/BCM 5 times. This will erase all other key fob codes, including the one he has got so that he cannot open the door whatsoever. If he still really wants to get in a breaks the window, then A: The alarm will be going mad, B: His key cannot start the car as he does not have the immobiliser as i disabled his alarm key already, and C: I went out yesterday and bought the biggest disklok available! I know its the cheap way round doing it, and its a bit of a work around- however home insurance certinly do not want to know at all and being only 22 my car insurance is steep enough, without submitting any further claims!
  14. You can get the can from Halfords now that you can just plug onto your aircon inlet and it adds more refridgerant. I have not used it, but my next door neighbour bought one for his Jag and said it worked a treat. Maybe worth a try for the £20? probably only need the smaller can of the two for a recharge....
  15. QUOTE "sorry don't see where the link can help" QUOTE "When I came to lock the doors I found out that the cables were from the sensor that picks up the signal from the keyfob. I've now cut the original mirror in half, taken out the small circuit board, wrapped it in insulating take and tucked it under the headlining - key fob now works again." So he had done something to the three cables to the mirror which stopped the fobs working?
  16. Hey guys- just did a SEARCH (yes, Im learning quick!) and came up with this... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... ght=mirror I know its a bit off topic, but what he did by accident may be exactly what I need to do... can anyone confirm? Thanks for the welcome by the way! David
  17. Well... The house is pretty secure- they smashed a window so not much you can do about that, however we have a downstairs alarm but can't use it as my father sleeps downstairs as he has parkinsons and can't get upstairs. :-(
  18. Hi you guys. Sorry for the long post!! Have owned the 350 for 9 months now and love most of the attention I get from it. I say most, because I experienced something nasty this morning.... I have a 2003 import- it has NO OE ALARM WHATSOEVER. I had a Viper alarm fitted around a month ago, and everyone told me I was mad spending that sort of money on something that "no-one takes any notice of". Anyhow, I woke up this morning at 4.30 to the sound of my alarm going off. I thought this was wierd as the weather was good and it has not played up yet. I started to slowly get out of bed and get down stairs- when I hear the alarm being deactivated by bleeping 4 times, like it does when you use the viper fob to turn off. I start to panic and run downstairs- get there to find a little scroat standing with the drivers door open about to get in! I shout over to him and he just runs off, 50 yds down the road where his scroat mate is waiting in a car to drive off. They had broken into the house and found the keys in the kitchen (not near the front door). What they had stupidly done was click the unlock button on the original remote (which still works to unlock the door), but does not disarm the alarm, and opened the door, causing the alarm to go off. By the time they realised and disarmed it by the alarm fob, it was too late and I was up. The problem I have now is that they have run off with the keys. I have a spare set. I have de-activated the fob for my viper alarm that they have got away with, so they can't start the car as that controls the immobiliser, but they still have a key and original Nissan fob that unlocks the door to get inside the car. I would just replace the keys and door lock/ignition but nissan want £1200!! My question: Is there any way I can pull a fuse or cut a wire to stop the original remote signal to get to the ECU, bearing in mind my aftermarket alarm controls the ECU directly to unlock/lock doors, so original is not needed at all except for the actual key part? I will block off the manual key hole on the door with a blanking plate and have a backup power source under bonnet if battery goes and fob not working- not a problem. Thanks Guys... David
