I think it might be more to do with tyre compounds as I did not change my wheels, just put different tyres on and I was slipping all over the place with the slip light on... Only other remedy is turn it off, then you can go down the road sideways....!! (Not really reccomended!! ;-) ) Dave

Do you mean that the fuel level is showing "----" and flashing DTE? I find that if I stop the car and turn the engine off when I have around 25Km left or under, and then turn the engine back on it will show "----". I have always assumed that this was because the fuel pump throws loads of fuel into the engine (like a choke) on startup which drains the tank. After driving a few miles slowly it might creep back up. Also find that once DTE comes on flooring it can DRAMATICALLY reduce the figures very quickly, like you can go from 40 Km left to 16Km on one 1 muinute blast down the road? Dave

I've got a JDM tip on 53k miles and have never had any problems with my box... and I do regularly use it to change down gears coming into corners. As said above, it won't let you do it if you are goign to break it! David

So are you going down the cheap repair route or the full bumper respray? I have a similar crease but have not got it fixed yet and was interested in how this would turn out! Thanks, David

Hi All, Just testing the water on here really to see if I get any bites... I'm looking to sell my silver 350z import. Specs: 54,000 miles Part service history (last serviced last year) Tiptronic Altezian (SP?) Leather Heated Seats, Electric Windows + Folding Factory fitted MOMO Nissan steering wheel (the expensive one) Full cat back Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust Pretty recent front and rear pad change. Good tyres Custom made centre arm rest (also in altezian leather) Fully de-restricted Full Viper Cat 1 alarm with certificate plus Remote Start Original Nissan Tonneau cover Luggage Net LED front reflector lights So, quite a bit really. I really have loved this car since the day I got it, however a new house forces sale... :-( Bad Points: The front bumper has some minor scuffs- most of which will not be seen once number plate fitted, and the rear bumper has a light crease where I gently reveresed into something while parking. Both of these can be fixed for not very much, but I just don't have the cash to pay for it at the mo! I'm looking for £7650 as thats whats needed to clear the finance that was taken out. I will be posting pics at the weekend, but other than the -ives above its a standard silver 350z...! Thanks all, David Front Damage: Rear Damage:

Fitted Discs, now wheel and brake pedal wobbles
dwj100uni replied to dwj100uni's topic in 350Z Technical
Hi all, Just want to let you know that I ended up sanding down the pads till they were flat and re-installing. This cured 90% of the problem, however I still didn't like the shake so bought new pads and fitted them and that seems to have completely cured the problem. Thanks for your help! David -

Sorry, I just thought that it might score the disk or cause the disc to warp if the pad was uneven. So are you saying I can do this process instead of taking the pads off and grinding down?? Thanks again, DJ -

Hi- OK, right Ill buy a tourque wrench, but for now Ill go to tyre place across the road and use theirs! The locating screw was done up tight, it was a bolt rather than a screw! I didn't re-surface the pads- how is this done??? I used EBC GD7120 discs. Thanks for help!! DJ -

Hi, I used an electric impact wrench that I always use- could this be a problem? Thanks, David -
Hi all, Some of you helped me yesterday regarding fitting my brake discs, thanks for that! I fitted them all fine using the old pads as I said I was going to, but now it seems that when I brake at any speed over about 60 i get bad wheel wobble and the brake pedal vibrates. Could this be to do with the pads being not new, and if not, what else could it be? Thanks guys, David P.s. It is a non brembo model and they are new EBC Gold slotted and drilled discs.

Hi guys, Can anyone tell me what size socket I need to remove the brake discs on a non brembo fronts? Thanks all, Dave
-
Thanks, Does anyone know where a write up for a non brembo disc change is, I can't find one! Thanks, DJ

Hi All, About 2 months ago I replaced the pads on my 350z import non brembo. I have now noticed that the discs need to be replaced so I have bought new discs. Is it a problem to use the old pads (which still have loads of life) with new discs. I know this is generally a no no, but there wasn't actually anything wrong with the old disc, (not warped or anything) just worn. Will it be OK? Thanks, David

Hi all, I have been looking in a few places and am finding it hard to find some EBD GD7120's anywhere. Its for my 2003 350 import, non brembo. Would be tempted by other makes, but don't want to spend over £140-150 on a pair really, as they are only the non brembo type so not great anyway! Does any of the suppliers have them in stock as EBC doesn't and it seems almost all suppliers are drop shipping now which means no one has them in stock! Thanks everyone! David

Oy!! I get first dibs if there are any going lol..!!

Hi, Just wondering if anyone had 2 245/45/18 available? part worn is fine, just haven't got much cash flow at the time being due to being made redundant and need them as the last thing I need is to be pulled with balds! Thanks guys... David

Can anyone see where the side indicator is? They seem to have removed the 350 one to make the side smoother, but can't see any white on the side mirror where it could be?
-
Honestly, its fine. I quite like it being different... But I do like the look of the burnt orange wheel with cruise/radio controls, but that would be the only one I would swap for... Guess which one I have Ooooo... Now I am tempted! But as I posted a couple of posts earlier I would need to be sure that mine was compatible! Can anyone confirm this??

hmmm... not so tempting as cruise!!
-
Lol...! Just out of interest... If I did prefer the standard wheel and want to go back to a standard one, would I have all the wiring there for cruise as standard? Its a 2002 JDM, so an early one! Is cruise standard on these or a specced option on JDM's?
-
Thanks... Yep mine is an Import, and I haven't got cruise or phone connection so not that bigger deal to me I like it as its pretty small and race like, athough keeping the airbag intact.
