  1. what would a UK non-gt Zed go for with low miles, say 25K ?

Dealer prices for the non-gt on a 53 plate with 25000 miles should be about £11500 max, and selling private about £10k ish for an unmolested example.

For the GT version you can add around £1200 to the above prices.

  2. Found this earlier!!

It’s not often we use the phrase ‘Is this the coolest race car ever? It just might be…’. But in this instance, we think it’s justified.

This is the Honda HSV-010, a V8-powered monster that’s set to take on Nissan’s terrifying GT-R in Japan’s GT500 series this year.

It looks astonishing. Based on the chassis of Honda’s stillborn NSX revival, the HSV-010 (HSV, by the way, stands for Honda Sports Velocity, not Holden Special Vehicles) weighs in at 1100kg and packs a 3.4-litre V8 hoofing out around 500bhp. As per GT500 regulations, a sequential manual gearbox channels all that power to the rear wheels.

The HSV-010 will race for the first time at the GT500 season opener at Suzuka on 20-21 March. We’d expect it to gain a whole bunch of decals and sponsors and stuff by that time, but Honda, please, we beseech you: leave the HSV-010 exactly as it is: naked and matte and carbon-fibrous and generally amazing.

Once more: is this the coolest race car ever? It just might be. It sounds like a F1 car

  3. I've had 2 high mileage cars!! You will save yourself a lot of money by finding a higher mileage car, but make sure it has a really good history with it. There are too many people out there who are afraid of high mileage Zeds and rather pay a premium for peace of mind. My 1st Zed on an "04" cost £14k with 72'000 miles on it and my 2nd GT "54" plate Z with 80k+ cost £8500!!! they both drove perfectly, the 2nd was as much fun as the first one and i didn't need to spend a penny on either of them. As long as the car has been serviced regulary the 3.5 engine gets better with age.

The only thing i would say is with high mileage cars is to try and find one with no more than 2 previous owners. The chap i was buying the car off, and the original owner were elderly professional people so you could see the car was looked after.

Anyway hope some of this helps in your confidence and search for the right 350z

    Oh and :welcome::D

  4. the car is sunset orange any colour will do as car needs painting, reason for needing bits is bought a cat d

I have a standard air intake, bonnet stay and a few small bits available if needed. By the way i'd be happy to help out if you need a hand or advice. I'm only in Porthcawl

  5. On here?

+1, at least it easier to find out the history of the car and the owner and more likely to be a very cherished Zed

Agree, but just because someone is selling a zed on here doesn't mean its perfect or got a hidden past. The 2 "high mileage" zeds i had, had full service history. The first zed was from Scotland which was bought new by a guy who gave it to his girlfriend as a birthday present. They then moved down to S. Wales where they part ex'd the car for a Range Rover sport. Thats when i bought it from a garage and then killed it a year later :byebye:

My 2nd zed that was bought on ebay, was originally owned by a solicitor from Surrey, then sold early 2009 to a guy in his early 40's, from Chipping Norton. He decided after a couple of months to buy a caterham, but his wife wouldn't let him keep the 2 so i took the Z off his hands. The service history on this car was extremely comprehensive even showing when the clicky axles and skipping bose were replaced including every service invoice.

Doesn't matter where the car comes from as long as it has a good history.

Although this forum is the best place to start looking, and offers brilliant advice for potential purchasers.

  6. Ebay is where you'll find some bargains but be prepared to travel and look at them before bidding. Thats what i did and bought my '54' plate with the winning bid of £8500!! Ok it had 80K+ miles on the clock and the paint needed sorting but it was mechanically perfect. Sold it due to lack of work for £9200, so made a bit of profit but added a few bits to it and smartened it up a little. Apparently i sold it too cheap, but i needed the cash quickly.

Basically don't be afraid of high mileage examples as you can save yourself £1000's.
