  1. Well depends how much value you put on 4wd. To me RWD is far more satisfying. Catching a drift is an amazing feeling.
  2. Well look on ABPs thread and you'll get the idea. I'll get a vid and pics up soon though. No need to be jealous, just chose a decent exhaust and get it fitted!
  3. It could have been worse. You could have told her that technically the punto was a Ferrari. Then she would have thought you were a nutter!
  4. So is this like decat pipes then?
  5. What the hell are test pipes?
  6. My Lexus was the only car I've ever had that didn't have a performance exhaust. I must say that standing behind the Zed and hearing the 6 pot poping and growling is awesome.
  7. It's strange as the note changes so much through the rev range. I like the sound. Not to all tastes I'm sure though. In the shed it was unbelievable. If I had a chilli Zed instead of an Azure it would have been mistaken for a Ferrari! The tailpipes look good too. Not chavvy in the slightest!

    Exhaust Gaskets?

Thanks for the contact Mike! That's what this forum is about!
  9. I got my DC sports exhaust system fitted last night. I did it with my mate on another friends ramp at his farm. The old exhaust came off easily enough. We heated the bolts but didn't need to cut any. The DC system went on a treat. It's a great fitting item. The only mod I made was to cut a corner of the rear diff guard to give some clearance. Started the car up in the shed (which is about the size of a football pitch) and it sounded brilliant. Took the car for a blast on the way home and it was great. Made my way to the dual carriageway and it's not noisier than standard at cruising speeds (which is great!) but if you drop a gear and floor it you get a cool rasp in the cabin. Pics and a video will follow but it'll probably be tomorrow! Thanks to Charlied for supplying the exhaust to me!

    Exhaust Gaskets?

Forgot to update this. Called TDI and they recommended using Nissan gaskets as the DC ones were garbage. I bought 6 of the cat gaskets and they were fine!
  11. Your grass is needing cut. My grass was cut just after that! It's all beautiful now..... honest!
  12. I've ordered my set already. I was keeping it quiet until they arrived!
  13. I'm going back to NY in September with the Mrs. Then off to San Diego and LA. Trying to change her mind on LA though as I hate it! I rented an apartment in Boston before, it was awesome and much better than a hotel. It was with my mates though.
  14. Well I look at the OC and post occasionally. There are more members from my area over there but I prefer the banter over here. The mods and admin team are helpful and have as much crap to post as the rest of us. There is a lot of knowledge on here and I don't think it's cliquey or too intimidating. I joined a lot later than some and must say I was welcomed.
  15. Ryan Air fly to New York, KLM can be competitive as can BA. The beauty with Ryan Air is you do emmigration in Dublin so no queues in JFK when you arrive!
  16. Well I like mine! Big pic..... I like a good number plate. Maybe I am sad though!
  17. The problem with Bose is that they have changed ownership so many times over the last few years. Seems that the 'Bose' units we have installed are a 'Friday Afternoon' project.
  18. He was on the dual carriageway between Aberdeen and Dundee. The 156 was an average. Replace car with drug and that is probably nearer the mark!
  19. Stupid. I still don't know why Top gear gets mentioned in these things. The guy doing 156 was from Aberdeen and in an M3.
  20. I don't get involved in these things as I think arguing is a bit of a waste of time. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that's fine. Val is putting across his point that sometimes if you buy cheap you buy dear and Tim and Ricky have put across that they are willing to treat the Zed to mods on their budget. Each to their own. I personally look at a wheel design first before looking if it's forged etc as I'm sure others do. Perhaps Val (and others I'm sure) look at the specs and then choose the design. I think if a buyer knows that a wheel is likely to need refurbed due to poorer quality finish then thats fine. It's good to be warned about these things before purchase. To bitch at each other is stupid - lets leave it to the women and respect each others choices!
  21. No interest in chainsaws but that is pretty damn cool!

    Still waiting!!

I ran the Zed everyday until the weather started turning up here. I have a low excess on my Zed but a car isn't the same after being smashed. I'd rather run the diesel dog to and from work and in the poor weather. It makes you appreciate the Zed all the more when you do drive it!
  23. Have to agree on this one, advising people on what wheels to get / not to get and the differences between wheels is not the same as criticizing wheels which ppl already bought. or is this to inform potential future buyers? ir fuel and Sarnie agreeing!

I run an M reg diesel Astra and my Zed. Total insurance bill pa is £600 for both. I get around 19.5 mpg on average in the Zed and 45 - 50 mpg in the astra. Only MOT costs as I do the servicing with my mate. I think it makes a big difference in the overall running costs in a year, well it leaves extra money for mods anyway!
