I would get the suggestion that you did it yourself in writing too. If he said it then he can write it if he believes it himself! That little letter could help you on too in a legal wrangle I'm sure. I would definately demand an investigation into the incident. I would have thought it would be normal practice anyway. Definately contact a legal advisor whether a solicitor or citizens advice or whatever as I'm quite sure things could be done here!
