  1. Rays are 8" and 8.5" Couple of things to consider.... Rays are very light and if you go for something heavier in the same size you'll gain nothing, if youo are upping the size for looks then fair enough. The offset is what determines whether spacers are required or not. What your reason for the change, what wheels and what offset?
  2. Try a Rangie...... Not actually as comfortable as they look.
  3. Didn't break down but I'm sure he rolled it 9 times on the drive out and it caught fire twice!

    Old Freelanders

Grand Cherokees are quite comfy. Look decent too.
  5. The 370 is very quiet compared to the 350. That's why most opt for an aftermarket exhaust, just to make it sound a little better!

Why not do 'proper 4x4' and get a disco or something. As much trouble as a freelander but much more rugged! The vitara is actually pretty good off road, they have a hairdresser image but with the right tyres (ATs would be spot on) they are good. Short overhangs and a decent 4wd system. Do you actually want to go off road or just have a 4x4?
  7. Bargain for anyone who wants to chat up your Mum! Has to be blue! My dad did say he'd buy her one to sit in the garage next to his SL. She declined!

    Old Freelanders

I had one for two years. Had an electrical issue that killed it for a while but I got it back on the road. It was a 1998 and it has the original head gasket. My mate has been running it for the last year with no issues. Some work well, most don't! Tread carefully though.
  9. Looks like a lister to me! I like the XJS. Was always my mums favourite actually!
  10. I love the idea of electric and hybrid cars that are 'proper' and not nimby pamby like a Prius. Lexus and Infiniti are doing proper hybrids, using motors and the technology to add power and lower emissions. I'm an Engineer though so technology excites me, I also wouldn't write off a good car because it runs on diesel, hybrid or fully electric. That's me though. I'm open to change!

    Neuton tyres

I remember when the garage side of the filling station I worked in many moons ago started selling a new budget tyre with a name that was hard to pronounce.... Vredenstein. Every manufacturer has to start somewhere. To get them on cars they have to price low and sell in volume. I'm not saying they are good or bad as I haven't used them.
  12. They look great BM. It always concerns me how easily a premium priced product tarnishes so easily.
  13. Now your talking.... did you see the Black Keys @ Maida Vale I haven't seen it. El Camino has been on in the car for weeks though - awesome!
  14. It could be either...... My Dads company supplies the electrical systems for whisky distilleries in Scotland - fine single malts and they use engineers and instal people obviously. Ask a bit more and also ask about jobs available at the end off it. Would you like to be an electrical engineer or on the tools?
  15. I think if people think these things replace washing they are deluded, as QD they normally perform alright. I haven't used this one however I'm a big QD fan.
  16. I dislike Mills. Just annoys me for some reason and becky is wedged up his arse. That show just doesn't appeal. Zane Lowe is the business!
  17. Cream isn't bad if you keep on top of it. I've looked after my dads cars with light leather and it's ok. I think it could add a real luxury feel to the zed.
  18. A genuine un molested one with 31k on the clock? Maybe a little rich but not a huge amount.
  19. You know how much dish there is by measuring it.... If it's a dished rim! The width will dictate it however there is no formula that I know of!
  20. That is the oldest money commercial ever! Funny thing is, I've never been a 928 fan - although I do appreciate the earlier model nowadays but this video made me want one!
  21. The Evoque is cracking as a (more expensive) alternative to the Freelander. Quite a few people I know have them. One of my friends and his one Mum have one each. It looks great and works well as a 5 door. The 3 door is slightly sleeker but impractical.
