Well I'd go astra or smaller. I don't think focus are down to that and escorts are gash. Golfs too expensive to fix and buy. Bigger cars are just gutsier.

Had a 95 Astra 1.7TD that was written off in April. 5 seats and 50mpg. It was free but it was a £500 car. Replaced it with a Landrover Freelander 5 seats, loads of room but 30mpg. I got it cheap at the time and it hasn't been too bad. A couple of niggly things. Magic in the snow! Golfs are nice and reliable. Focus are cheaper now and handle well. take your pick from the rep mobiles!

The front lip doesn't look right paint wise. The fact it's a lip means it's replica or imported from America too. Insurance should be ok as it was an optional extra on the car!

To go to San Sebastian from Pau it's easily done there and back in a day. It's only 2 - 3 hours drive. Done it in an Espace and a Carvalle mini van - same as yours with windows! The rest of Spain - no idea. I think the South West is very underated as everyone goes East with the posers!
