I ran 050s at the front and 040s at the rear with no issue until I changed for T1Rs all round It seems to be hit or miss whether or not running different tyres sets the ESP mental or not. Ideally you don't run different tyres and if you do you should budget to changes the other axle just in case the TC goes mad in my opinion.

Ok folks, I think if people want to debate the punishment then it should be done in another topic. Yes, they are related but I feel that this topic should concentrate on the horrific accident and maybe we as drivers can learn something from the guys mistakes to avoid this type of thing happening again.

Shocking! I wish your wife a speedy recovery and send my best wishes to you as I'm sure it's been a crazy experience for you both. Very good point. We all speed occasionally on rural roads however we need to think about the surroundings. It isn't always safe to drive near the speed limit.
