  1. My fly by night comment was aimed at those that buy a DA and a week later they are a detailing company.... You know the type I'm sure. Nothing to do with price etc.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. They buy Cosworth Plenums from Alex I believe! Does that make me a roman then It makes you AWESOME!!!!
  3. Well the books are full until November so there must be plenty people that have too much money! Anyway, it's all relative I guess and everyone will spend money the way they like. There are plenty of fly by night detailers out there. those that pick up a DA and think they are a detailer.
  4. You would be a complete mug to pay £1400 for a detail, I would spend the money respraying the car People have travelled over from Europe to pay that in Aberdeen. Also, it goes much higher than that too.
  5. I'll sell you Rays with good tyres on. I'll get them refurbed better than new, deliver them to you and put them on the car for you. How's that?
  6. For some reason, I love it!
  7. 1. Condition 2. Low Miles Maybe consider higher miles, engines seem to go on forever if looked after 3. Distance Travel, I always look nationwide as the correct car is WORTH travelling for. 4. Rays Consider the non Rays, you can use the normal wheels for winter tyres, cost isn't too high 5. Silver/Grey Look at other colours I have given some ideas to help you search for the right car. Basically you need to compromise somewhere. By your list you'd compromise in the reverse order. Start by looking at other colours, then for non Rays cars, then further afield etc.

  9. I'll happily go and visit any Zed in the Aberdeenshire area for you. Basically you need to widen parameters. Prioritise what you want. From what I can see it's: 1. Silver / Grey (the commonest snoozefest colours) 2. Low miles 3. Condition 4. Rays 5. Distance Now put them into the priority list. Most important thing at the top.
  10. I manage my bike fine so you might well have a point!
  11. An ER5 will make the Z 'feel' slow. The Butt dyno is very sensitive on a bike.
  12. My local Tesco is very cheap for fuel so it's fine for me.
  13. You normally have to live on beans as fuel is so expensive. Now we are buying beans to avoid living on them......
  14. haha - booked in for my DA... so it will be my first bike. The bike above is 250kg's so not as heavy as a norm HD as its smaller. I have been reading a lot into this as it was my only concern.. (not being able to stand it up!). It also sits low to the floor and many reviews say its the perfect bike for smaller* guys . Im 5,10 so shouldn't be a big issue but I will def give it a test before I commit to anything. cheers for the advice I'm sure Jodi Marsh had one..... It's the 'girls' harley so you'd be fine! haha thanks for telling everyone Stew... really appreciate that one mate It would just be for fun, so a weekend bike (even though my z is a weekend car). the only use for it would just be to go out and ride.... my only other option would be a ducati monster 796. which is a completely different bike. If I struggle with the weight of the harley then I will have to get something more appropriate for a first bike... time will tell/I will beast the gym some more Jodie Marsh is a beast! I think the Harley's a great looking bike, apparently they're not great to ride though. I love the Monster though and would definitely have one. My brother has just bought a 2012 Suzuki GSR which is a naked bike with a slightly de-tuned GSXR engine in it. Very tempted to boot the R6 for one. Nakeds are awesome! I love mine.
  15. I did suspect it'd look wrong with 17s. I suspected right. Looks like a 99p toy one now! Get some silly coloured rays on - will be better for track anyway!
  16. Still no need to close. We try not to 'over moderate' the forum.

  18. Wet Weight for the Harley is 250kg. An R6 is 190kg wet. My Z1000 is 221kg wet with a full to the brim tank of fuel - considerably more with me on it! So, the harley is heavy and would be a 'mare to manoeuvre when just passed your test but it's by no means impossible. What would you be using it for?
  19. Beauty! Needing Tomato Sauce anyway! Heard the fart of death last night...
  20. No need to lock it in my view, there is no abuse, just mild ribbing in the form of film quotes. On a more serious note, we take road safety etc quite seriously. We are a car club, not just a forum. We want to ensure the meets that are organised through the club forum are safe. We have put bans on members attending meets before due to irresponsible driving. The police have (and will continue to) looked at posts made on car club forums to put together a profile of drivers that are facing criminal charges. Posting 'I drove at 120 mph' or 'I raced a Focus RS on this road' etc etc might seem innocent. If you have an accident that might not have been your fault and they pull all these posts off the net and use it as evidence in court, what will the jury think? On another note, we had a member a while ago that was involved in a fatal accident in his 350z. It's something that we don't really want to deal with again to be honest. If we can make people think about how they drive in a humorous way to avoid this then we will. Now, I don't know how you drive on public roads but I know what you post here as does anyone else that logs on. Always keep this at the back of your mind. As for buying a sports car to go to the shops.... Many did! Those that didn't though are directed to various driver training companies, track day companies etc. This is where it is safe to use the zed to FULL potential. For anyone that wants to post up about racing on roads, driving at silly speeds etc etc then I suggest you find somewhere else to do it. If you do, then expect a ribbing, if you continue to do it expect a lot of ribbing. This isn't aimed at you in the slightest, just so happens that it is on a thread you started. Drive safe folks!
  21. Brilliant looking bike! No idea if it's any good but it looks lovely. I was checking up prices on big harleys the other week.....
  22. Hope you've got some nutty other stuff planned to pull off the BGW!
  23. Were you racing for pink slips or to get the 'package' back to Dom? Man, did you top out at 140? Maybe you need NOS...... Watch these floors though.
