  1. Stripped out with a supercharger bolted on sounds like it'd be good.....
  2. My Navara (2007, 48k miles today) went into the former Nissan Dealer up here. It's part of the Evans Halshaw group, now only sells Renaults as a franchised dealer but is still an authorised service centre for Nissan. Anyway, the car went in for replacement wheels under a safety recall. They performed a free 'safety check' which turned up that I needed a new front propshaft and all four driveshafts. Possibly rear propshaft too. Did I want to go ahead and do the work...... I declined but got the parts list etc. Total price £1200 but if rear prop was needed (75% chance apparently) it was another £1100. Anyway, I took the car away - against there advice as it was hugely dangerous apparently. I went to my mates garage and let him have a look. Driveshafts fine. Rear prop looks ok. Front prop dodgy (I knew this as I could hear it) so it'll need new Universal joints. I went away and ordered two new universal joints for the front pop and got them delivered to my house by a 4x4 specialist for £38. My mate and I whipped off the front prop - a whole 8 bolts and 10 mins, he got the old UJs out, we tidied everything, greased them up and popped them into the propshaft. Bolted it back up and paid him a few quid for his time. Moral of the story is, if you smell a rat then get a second opinion. This is the reason why I only use people I trust and would NEVER use the main dealer for anything. Hopefully some happy motoring without big bills for me... fingers crossed!
  3. Going with a DAS-6 and low to mid range stuff you'll easily do it. Spend the money on a few key products. People rave about Meguiars Ultimate Compound. I've never used it but I have used other Megs machine polishes and they are easy to use. Poorboys Black hole glaze - A must especially as you are new to polishing. You won't eliminate the swirls straight away. This will help fill the remaining swirls and RDS and leaves a nice surface to wax onto. I would spend a few quid and buy Blackfire sealant though.... I have raved about it for years and I honestly don't know anyone that's tried it and hasn't been blown away by it. Don't forget cloths and polishing pads as these can be more expensive than you'd think. I'm assuming you have decent car shampoo and can clay etc already? Obviously before polishing a car the paint should be clean and clear of contaminates. Make sure to wash, de tar / de bug and clay the car, wash again and then dry ready for polish. I'm not sure on what you have product or experience wise so I apologise if I'm teaching you to suck eggs or typing stuff thats going over your head. Just ask the questions and I (and others) will help answer them as best we can.
  4. I think you should make a sig out of that. 'Cream of the Montard crop' is awesome!!!!!
  5. The most important questions really have to be 1. Do you want to mask the swirls and make the car look nice or eliminate them? 2. What is your budget?
  6. Totally different car but my mate told me last night about an E60 M5 he had into his work - these are now £15k motors easily and will be on the radar of many Zed owners. Anyway, it was a few years old and needed a little gearbox work. £9k of gearbox work to be precise. My mate worked at a specialist and not a main dealer and therefore the prices were much lower too. I know it's not really relevant to this though.
  7. Don't worry, my Dad calls Range Rover sports 'the gay ones' as he is an ex Full Fat owner. Funnily enough a mate of mine just bought a White Range Rover Sport TDV8. His family are big land owners, he has a house on the farm, he owns a plant hire and groundworks company with the yard on a corner of the farm. His car spends more time in mud, fields and minging roads than most I know......
  8. This thread is now a sausage fest!
  9. I won't argue with that list although road biased tyres are the norm these days, a nice set of 'SUV' tyres are fine though. Even cars capable of mud plugging often come with sports tyres on them these days, it's a crying shame! I'd also put bling wheels on the list. That is probably my pet hate - 22s on 4x4 is just silly. Well that and no option to go into 4WD.
  10. Oh dear, let the flaming commence...... Chesterfield will be hanging out his white Rangie Sport with his flame thrower!
  11. You can see I have issues with the way 4x4's are used Clearly the Disco is compromised compared to 'proper' Landrovers too. I'll add it to the list of half fat 4x4's that I won't buy should I ever need a mud plugger In my opinion the RRS and Evoque are designed mostly to appeal as status symbols which will rarely see any mud, but I like the subject car of this thread What's a 'proper 4x4' and what's a 'half fat 4x4' then? I'm genuinely intrigued...... I have my own opinions on this, just want to see how they stack up!
  12. I've driven all Land Rover Products on and offroad apart from an Evoque..... I have driven a lot of 'SUVs' of many vintages on and offroad actually. I'm waiting too.
  13. Driven them both offroad? I haven't had an Evoque offroad yet but I'd imagine they'd be good. The RRS is brilliant on ATs. One of my RRS mates put ATs on his and it was great.
  14. 92%* of 350z-uk members think Ricey is a nasty mentalist.** *17 people surveyed. ** 15 of these people had been flamed by Ricey previously.
  15. The interior looks great! What an improvement. The exterior looks nice, the rear lights are a little odd but it suits the new family face well. It is fairly 'bling' compared to previous versions however I think for the most part it won't put off too many buyers!
  16. The only surprise is that it isn't an Audi. I see more broken 2 year old Audis than anything else.
  17. Has no-one actually heard of Beady Eye before? Hells yeah! Big oasis fan here. Must admit though I'd rather have seen Noel up doing his high flying birds stuff or the classics (definitely maybe) than Liam and beady eye murdering wonderwall.... Liam was awful unfortunately.
  18. Strangely i thought you would like this video Stew when i posted it You thought correct!
  19. If guys in the US are running +10 then i'd say a 3-5 mm slip on spacer will still leave you a little room. Could get a set of 4 to try all round!
  20. Beavis you dirty old man! That's a nice little vid!
  21. Garfields eyes look like a pair of boobs..... ted showed me!
  22. Stew

    Bug remover

Tardis for serious tar spots. I bought my dad Poorboys Bug Squash and he says it's amazing!
  23. The GTM kit is bolt-on, the instructions are good and they send you an Uprev map to install yourself once you've sent them the diagnostics.... it obviously won't be as good as getting a decent uprev on a dyno though. At least then you have an UpRev license so can then get dyno time to tweak the map if need be.
