  1. Good news Mart. Even if she does try and kill you now and then!
  2. Indeed. While the rest of the country fights recession, the insurance companies live in a lovely bubble of a world where customers are legally required to have a product from a private firm. Isn't it interesting that by law you must have car insurance, and by law the government has no jurisdiction over how much profit a private company is allowed to make. That is the sole reason why insurance costs go up every single year, and nothing else. And the government take their 'Insurance tax' to make sure they can cash in too.
  3. Its shows Stew ..were in The Shire are you? Live in Westhill, work in Inverurie. There are quite a few members about the 'deen and the 'shire.
  4. We try hard here to keep the forum laid back and friendly. If Trolls show up it's open season though. It's rare that a welcome post here isn't into 2 or 3 pages. If you are a female it's nearer 15 pages! Anyway, judging by your spotted post you aren't a million miles from me.
  5. Whats with the boot shutline?
  6. I always liked the 90 spec bumper and spoiler! Looks tasty, a few Of my mates ran them but I never did! One mate has two series one shells on a shelf in his shed, speaking about making one good! He had a 210 bhp escort turbo but it went bang eventually. Weapon though!
  7. Anything in full fat Rangie worth waiting for or was the 2010/2011 update it for a wee while?
  8. Only recently in XEL, so playing the waiting game, but on a small proft so far..... Long term could be good. I have seen the plans for the field they are developing in the North Sea. I think late 2012 before switch on but it might do good things then.
  9. JLR empolyees. Reliability issues with a Land Rover?????? There will definitely be reliability issues! Land Rover customers love the product though and buy them time and time again as the issues are easily forgotten when the product is that good. Even my old 1998 Freelander went to a good home as I wouldn't scrap it! Cracking little car despite all it's faults! My Dad is thinking on getting a Range Rover again he said. Full fat model though, he's not into the RR Sport as he said it's the 'gay' model!
  10. I'm more completions / production side of things. I work for a company called Schlumberger.
  11. Nice price! Thanks for the heads up!
  12. Glad to hear it. It's a current trend (by Ze Germans) to make 4x4s that are sheeeeite in anything more than road dust. A trend that should die!
  13. This is going to be the most popular car where I live when it goes on sale. I think it's a great looking bus but I seem to remember discussing this with Husky before and it was MUCH smaller than I thought it would be! Still nice to look at and something I'd consider. Unfortunately (as with the Range Rover Sport) it will suffer a terrible image in certain parts of the country. I live where there is still farming and still snow and a lot of people (myself included) run about in 4x4s. You can even have a Range Rover Sport here WITHOUT having 'cool' tattoos and a designer skinhead.....
  14. When did you get in XEL? I was one of the people responsible for the share going up by 1000%. I was sat in a room next to one of their directors (that sold 24 million worth of shares on Christmas eve) and all the other directors on a conference line telling them to go for it during a well test! Shame I wasn't allowed to invest in them. I actually just got a medal from work for the last time XEL share prices shot up. I was offshore running the job and got the heaviest artificially lifted oil out the ground ever by going for it! The director that I was advising before Christmas said I had made him a tidy sum then as it proved the field they were exploring was viable.
  15. I've always had insurance on my cars even when my gaylander was off the road with no MOT it was still insured.
  16. ENQ closed at £1.43? Pretty good tip, but for me just starting out again its a bit too much risk involved there. I know it will be one of those regrettable moments It's not a tip. Just a fact to help people make a decision if they were interested in ENQ. Oh and they won't be 'switching' on for a wee while yet!
  17. Is it a standard fit Nissan System?
  18. I quite enjoy the tube. Off peak though! It's fun looking at the maps and working it out and not getting lost. It's an experience for me though being way more northern than the northerners. When I worked in Moscow I used to get the tube at rush hour. Now that was fun! Summer was bliss though! Those that have visited will know why!

    Which wheels?

Varrstoen in an aggressive stance set up for me!
  20. This idea is full win. You also need an 8TB NAS drive like Chesterfield. In fact just clone his drive as it's full of porn. , I have a 1TB wireless NAS but it's slowly filling up. (with porn may I add). EFA
  21. ENQ will have high rate Artificial Lift soon so the production rates from one of their assets will increase by quite a bit.
  22. If there are particular topics people want covered then stick up a post in the OT section. If it is interesting / popular it'll be well used and appear in the 'view unread inc OT' list every time you log in. I'm not against a healthy OT section, I have used it for all sorts of stuff myself, Sandwiches, Pets IT help - you name it! This IS a car forum though so the focus should be on the cars. As we say, if the OT topics are good and have a healthy response then they can be stickied.
