  1. Hows about the imobilisers that have a secret button somwhere in the car, that if not pressed within 30 seconds, the car dies. That lets the theives take your car, with the keys, so you dont get hurt and the theives get what they want, but then half a mile down the road, the car dies. Or you could do what I do..... Take the keys upstairs to bed, and have one of these behind the headboard... The one above isn't mine, mines a 41" Black and White (Kill Billstyle) design.
  2. You can get satin ones from courtesyparts, but they are $100 !!, plus the shipping and the import duty... Anyone know how much the shipping is from courtesyparts? The duty and rate of VAT payable on items can be found here: http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/downloadFile?contentID=HMCE_PROD_009989 Just a quick note that may help. I used to work closely with the Royal Mail, and has the opportunity to visit the main parcelforce hub which receives all air mail from around the globe, they have their own Customs team in the building. You pay duty on goods valued at £7 or more, and VAT on goods valued £18 or more - however this is a per person limit. If your parcel is addressed to "Mr & Mrs X XXXXX and Family", HM customs and excise assume 2 children, so you then you pay duty on goods valued at £28 or more, and VAT on goods valued at £72 or more. So remember this next time you order something, as it could save you a few quid, and stop Mr Brown getting his hands on your hard earned!!
  3. Looking good... Are they subs I spy in the back?
  4. The retail price for Zymol Royale is actually £6,275 http://www.zdouk.com/detail.aspx?ID=86 But you do get it refilled free for life... I think I may be investing in some of this stuff - not the Royale, but maybe one of their complete kits.
  5. Ah but my missus' name is Tracy - so that would just be confusing. And perhaps a little disturbing, when I tell friends Im going out in Tracy for a ride. Hmmm - hows about: NAME.................MEANING Destiny.........................For which you were meant to do Destry..........................War Horse Fidella...........................Faithful Hinto (native american)...Blue Nariko (japanese)..........Thunder try here for thousands...... http://www.babynamesworld.com But steer clear of: Kapera...(african)......This child, too, will die.
  6. One of my goals in life is to eventually own a nice red Italian car with the little prancing horse badge - its a fair few years away yet, but when I do get my hands on one - It will be called Lola!
  7. With all you FI boys about, I think I'll have to set off to these meets a little earlier! And I'll be imposing a five miute head start for all NA cars on the way to the pub!
  8. Great! Now where is our meets organiser.... He's around here somewhere...
  9. I havent seen a forced induction Z, let alone driven one or riden in one. The standard car is quick, can't imagine what a Forced Induction one will go like! Im hoping that one of you FI guys would be kind enough to let me be a passenger in yours at a future meet....
  10. Excellent info, thanks for the tip. Im sure others will find that useful! Ta, Chris.
  11. Ive not even looked at how to do it yet! Ill probably take one look at the instructions on how to disassemble the steering wheel and give up! LOL:blush: If its reasonably simple though and it is a success, I dont mind helping out.
  12. Just the same as we are spending on the kitchen! Havent got anywhere to put one yet either, so I think it will have to wait a few years yet.
  13. Those 7's really do look like fun! Perhaps when the mortgage has come down a little!
  14. Ill have to discuss this with the boss, never done anything like a track day before - and to be honest Im not too keen on taking my own car on an event like that, I'm just too unlucky! Being open to novices only does interest me though. Does anyone know of anything like this where you get provided with the car?
  15. yes just a little - but between 1900, and 3400 its decent.! LOL. Great for around town driving, and traffic light grand prix's in 30 zones! LOL.
  16. Well - just my luck. I've been wondering where my plates have got to - yes I know I only ordered them Saturday, Im impatient ok. So I checked the site for delivery timescales - should be within 5 working days, but the bloomin Royal Mail in Ireland are on strike - again. Ahh well - at least it will be a surprise when they do arrive!
  17. I know - thats why I like my Golf TDI, as it has more torque than a Boxter S! I just like the sound of 300BHP.
  18. Funny story..... I once knew a guy that bought a VW corrado that had an "active" rear spoiler. It lifted when the car reached 45mph.. Obviously he bought the car when it was standing still. First time he had a copper behind him at 45mph he got pulled. Here is a rough recall of the conversation: Copper: "do you know your spoiler tilts upward when you go over 40mph?" Mate: "I think its 45, but yes I do know, we are in a 60 zone arent we?" Copper "oh its not the speed I stopped you for, its the spoiler" Mate: "why? Theres nothing wrong with the spoiler tilting up is there?" Copper "no, its the sticker on the underside thats the issue" Mate: "oh, I never knew it had one, whats the problem?" Copper "it says "F**king catch me if you can, copper tw*t". (or something along those lines) Needless to say he was a little embarrassed!
  19. All sorted now - just need to find the time to do some reading, and then get on with my first mod! Ill try and remember to write a "how to" guide as I go along, just in case any other UK roadster owners fancy doing it.
  20. Ta, Thanks for that. Ill not lose any sleep over it. Besides, there is only a couple of places in chesterfield to buy 97 Ron, and Optimax is only available at one garage on the outskirts. So Ill stick to BP and my Sainsburys points.. Slightly back on topic, if this chip is a custom remap, and detachable - how would it cope if the ECU was reset, or the ECU switched from normal to agressive - or limp mode etc? As it is a piggyback would the ECU changing from one mode to another raise any issues with the chip? On a side note, I dont think the power would be all that noticeable, but I do feel a little upset that we cant have 300bhp (unless you have a GT4) Its just tweaking that little extra out of it to get the pub bragging figures. Id like to be able to say my car has 300hp, as it just sounds better than 280..
  21. ahh right o... Off to the dealer for some insider info I think.....
  22. Just a quick question - slightly off topic.. If I fill with BP Ultimate (which I do) and then switch to Optimax, to get the most benefit from this should I do an ECU reset, or will it just do it itself? Sorry - back on topic now..
  23. So - is there anywhere that I can legally obtain one of these?
  24. Well, looks like I'll have to be the odd one out on this one - I think the seats look a little "stay puffed Marshmallow". Each to their own, but I think they look a little fluffy.. Does that make sense?
