  1. I would also advise relocating that camera with an overview of the front (presently looks to be sited at first floor level) to lower down where it may get a better angle and view of faces. Just dont mount it so low as to be blocked by the roof line of the higher vehicles you have. It may also require a wider angle lens. It may be better to have two cameras covering the area rather than relying on one, as you will then not be spreading the resolution of the camera across as much area. If you know the most likely times and circumstances in which these individuals will strike, then as others have said, try to manufacture such a circumstance and have some other people lay in wait for them. Even if it is with cameras/camcorders to identify beyond doubt who it is. When you then know who it is you can either go the long winded and perfectly legal route by taking your evidence to the police, or the shorter and much more illegal route along the lines of "law abiding citizen" or similar.
  2. Bumped a pillar of our own garage in our zed, the plate and the black surround took the bump and there was no damage done other than a slight scuff on the white plastic of the number plate. As long as you dont give it a propper smack, the plate holder and bumper are fairly flexible. Ill bet there is no damage.
  3. Try Leeds or Nottingham. They are a lot more down to earth and friendly. So much so that when a group of us visited last year (and will be doing again shortly) they were happy for us all to wander around the workshop area as we pleased - even while there were such items as F40's on the ramps for us to have a good poke around underneath. Im hoping to visit the Lamborghini showroom in Birmingham at some point in the near future, though I rememebr last time I was there some years ago looking at the Continental (they share/d it with Bentley) they seemed quite amicable and down to earth.
  4. Sadly I had the same opinion at the 458 coupe launch that I went to. (had an invite to the 1st 458 spyder launch a week or so ago but didnt go). The suit jacket and jeans brigade were about in large numbers at the 458 launch and were nothing but richard branson wanabees and loving the attention of the sales reps and scantily clad ladies. Meanwhile I got chatting to another bloke that had turned up in jeans and a tshirt just like me, who it transpired could have bought and sold the rest of the people in the showroom about 20 times over. The people in the dealership certainly seemed to know this too. They never batted an eyelid as he asked me to see what I thought to the wheels he'd just put on his 430 spider, and we proceeded to walk straight through the staff only areas, into the workshop and start walking around in there. This launch was not nearly as "bling" as the one you describe above - though I have my suspicions that most lamborghini/ferrari/bentley etc dealerships in London will cater toward those who want to be seen driving the cars... Try visiting the dealerships away from the more narcissistic areas of the country would be my advice.
  5. Just found this, although its been around for a while. Its quite a good analogy of our lovely tax system and how it works... Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all tencomes to £100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this… The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing The fifth would pay £1 The sixth would pay £3 The seventh would pay £7 The eighth would pay £12 The ninth would pay £18 The tenth man (the richest) would pay £59 So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the bar owner threw them a curve ball. “Since you are all such good customers,†he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by £20″. Drinks for the ten men would now cost just £80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men? How could they divide the £20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? They realised that £20 divided by six is £3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by a higher percentage the poorer he was, to follow the principle of the tax system they had been using, and heroceeded to work out the amounts he suggested that each should now pay. And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving). The sixth now paid £2 instead of £3 (33% saving). The seventh now paid £5 instead of £7 (28% saving). The eighth now paid £9 instead of £12 (25% saving). The ninth now paid £14 instead of £18 (22% saving). The tenth now paid £49 instead of £59 (16% saving). Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings. “I only got a pound out of the £20 saving,†declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,â€but he got £10!†“Yeah, that’s right,†exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a pound too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!†“That’s true!†shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get £10 back, when I got only £2?, Here we go again the rich getting all the breaks!†“Wait a minute,†yelled the first four men in unison, “we didn’t get anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!†The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
  6. There is .... Mine I've found in todays climate people are busier than ever making less than ever, so they appreciate being able to pick up the phone, get a good price and not need to shop around. Saves them time, saves my staff time quoting the same job twice and has improved customer retention rates no end as customers know they can save time and get about the best price by just staying where they are. (I dont sell insurance by the way ).
  7. We are pleased to announce that this year as part of the Wales event we will be supporting a chosen local charity of Hope House. Hope House Children’s Hospices provide care and support to life limited children, young people and their families. (They are currently caring for over 320 terminally ill children and their families). You can read more about the fantastic work that Hope House do by clicking their logo below. We are currently looking at, and discussing with other parties ways in which we will be able to raise money for this good cause during the weekend. As many will know we had a fantastic raffle last year, and are looking to replicate this again this year - with 100% of the money from the sale of tickets being donated to Hope House. We have already had some very generous donations from traders here and will be producing a full list of the prizes shortly. In the meanwhile if there are any traders or individuals that wish to provide item/s for the raffle, or wish to offer alternative means of generating funds for Hope House during the course of our weekend, please feel free to contact any member of the team. We usually put on quite a spectacle for the people of North Wales during the weekend, and it will be nice for them to see we are doing something positive for those children in their local area who may never be fortunate enough to be able to smile and wave at our convoy out on the road. Thanks again to all members & traders here for their continued support of the club and our continued growth. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ glrnet (Graham); will370z (Will) and Darren-B (Darren) are seeking raffle prizes so should you wish to donate something as a prize to help a very worthy cause please contact one of them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRIZES/RAFFLE TICKET PURCHASE DETAILS ARE NOW HERE: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=61076
  8. Id be tempted to do a Del boy and start bottling and selling it.

The end "plate" of that spoiler reminds me of The flight of the Navigator.
  11. If we actually started handing out points and eventual bans for people who cant keep left on our motorways, things would improve a lot anyway. Restrict HGVs to the first two lanes of the new four lane carriageways. Also contract companies to do an actual job on the roads rather than a job where they get paid by the day or get a "bonus" if they bring it in on time. They don't care about the bonus, they've already priced that into the job anyway and just sponge up the daily rate.
  12. On some 4x4s or vehicles with limited rear view, I think they are a good safety measure. If people don't actually look behind their vehicle before getting in it with the intention of reversing, objects such as prams/puschairs and small children are not visible from the drivers seat using any of the mirrors. Its worth noting that for this very reason, in the US there are plans afoot to make the installation of reversing cameras compulsory on all new vehicles from 2014. Similar suggestions are also being made in Australia. I doubt it will be long before our country follows suit. Indeed as the US is such a large market for many manufacturers, we will probably see all cars here having reverse cameras by default anyway, as they will just form part of the standard spec. If you actually walk/look behind your vehicle before reversing it, then they not be that useful for you, but for that one time it prevents you hitting something that you didnt know was there, they could prove useful.
  13. Its the primary reason I've swapped our two daily drives for semi tanks. Its amazing how much room people give a "big fat gypsy white" Range Rover. Best tip is to go to some specialist baby/child seat store and just have them check the fitting of any seats you have. That would be one of the most important items in the event of any incidents.
  14. Amazing progress. I also thought No. 27 was incredible. It just shows the detrmination and dedication of the workers out there. I also feel a strong sense that sadly should our country have suffered the same fate, we would not have the resolve and ability to make as much progress toward recovery in the same time.
  15. Luckily I follow the shares a long way away from the drinks cabinet. Otherwise i would be an alcoholic!
  16. Still not got back into RMP to my full holding again. Nearly jumped in at 38p this morning as my entry point was 34.5, but didnt. Watched the march to 44 all day
  17. As is stated on the driver documents, this isnt a race, rally or timed event. Driving WILL be within the speed limits, and any driving styles or manoeuvres that you would not perform if there were a marked car behind you, would not be acceptable on this club drive.
  18. exact same number of shares as I had in RMP. Sliced out 14,000 to leave 8000 free ride on the ASX, and now cant get back in. May put them in RRL for the time being, as there should be T&T news soon. Have also traded RRL a bit, but only making a few hundred shares here and there. Still, its got my average back down, which was something that took a bit of doing since I bought on the 24p spike some months back Have got a cheeky limit buy on RMP just in case there are some daft drops to force stop losses first thing. Doubt it will go through though. Will research SNM too time permitting. Stil waiting for SOU to start doing anything again too, thats sticking out like a sore thumb on the sheet.
  19. Well what a prize greedy c*ck Ive been. Been holding RMP since before they were even listed on AIM. Couple of days ago, decided to sell the value of my original purchase on the ASX and get back in on the UK AIM the following morning. Leaving the "profit" as a free ride on the ASX. Sold a load at the UK equivalent of 34.5p. Next morning saw that ask was 34.4 in the UK. But thought.... Ill just see if it ticks down another level before going back in. Long story short, Ive watched it tick to over 44p now So although I still have my free ride in the ASX, its only returning 33% of what I would have seen if I had just jumped straight back in the following morning. That will teach me. Maybe its PI's driving the RMP price upward at these rates. Maybe there will be a glut of recent buyers bail out for the quick 10-20% and I may be able to get back in. But that entry point of 34.5p is looking a long way off now! Ill only ever see that again if its a duster imho, in which case Ill not want to get back in anyway! Seems like RRL is looking to tick up shortly too. Hopefully T&T will be a nice update this week..
  20. sure - many would spit their dummy out, but they'd get over it after a couple of weeks, just like the rioters in the summer. Eventually it would sink in that going through life just expecting others to pick up the tab isn't on...
  21. Imho, the only people who had a problem with poll tax, are the people that didn't like the concept of paying for the services they used. Having just looked at our local councils website, our district has a population of some 80,000 people. Yet my council tax makes up 1/10,000th of the total council tax bill. Yep - seems fair to me. Our house of two people clearly must be using the council provided facilities four times as much as others. Is there something fundamentaly wrong with expecting people to pay for what they use?
  22. Looking online, it appears that ours will see no change either - unless we get a rebanding. Which will see ours almost double. Of course I am now using twice as much of the councils services as I did last year
