  1. Glad you all like the map - a true group effort.
  2. There are a few guys investigating the UTEC. Which is a chip that canbe used in conjunction with other performance mods. The problem with the Z's ECU is that it reacts to any altertion to the car, in order to return thecar back to certain parameters. Its all a little over my head to be honest, but as far as I know, I dont think there is a simple remap or chip available, at least not in the superchips sense, its a little more complicated than that. Though thats not to say a Z can't be tuned. One in the states is reported to have over 700bhp. Though to get anything well in excess of 300bhp, the forced induction route is probably going to be the path to follow.
  3. Yes - you need to make sure you are not lining yourself up for a big headache when the time comes to sell on.
  4. Welcome to the site Merv! I still think some of this "run in" period is just an old wives tale when it comes to modern engines, but I dont suppose it can harm can it?
  5. bloody ell - Im not too hot on imports, but to me that sounds like a 350Z in nearly new condition with only around 10K on the clock for the price of a ford focus! Can't be bad! As long as it has been fully converted and has all the paperwork in tact to say its UK road legal, then it certainly sounds like a deal to me.
  6. Lol - you guys... You dont know how lucky you are - us admins had to buy ours! LOL. You are more than welcome chaps, its the least we can do for the value you all add to the place.
  7. It may also be possible to find a GT model without stereo controls too. Mines got the leather, but no stereo controls. I reckon there were a whole host of combinations released very early on. I would say it is rare to find a model with no controls on the wheel at all, but not necessarily anything wrong with that - just rare. The GT roadsters in the UK came with cruise but no radio controls, now they com with cruise and radio. Non GT roadsters would have come with no radio and no cruise. I suppose it is possible that there were some JDM cars produced as a mixture of the two, i.e. standard spec wheel controls, but all the other GT (ST) bits n tact. I want to try and retro fit the stereo controls in mine, but I wouldnt like to do the same for cruise. I suppose its personal prefference on how important these features are. Personally I dont find the radio that much of an issue, as my daily drive golf doesnot have fingertip controlsfor the radio, so Im used to it. I also dont use the cruise that much on the Z, as I dont do that many lengthy journeys.
  8. No radio controls on <06 model roadsters either (including GT roadsters) So I would assume it is possible to find an early non GT model with no cruise and possibly no radio controls either.
  9. Careful Val.... Welcome to the site Mike! We too had the roadster/coupe debate. I lost. Though I have to say after some of the summer days we've had, and the drive out to wales a few weeks ago, I haven't regretted it. If we were living in an Oz climate, I would have gone for the Roadster from the off.
  10. Yeah, and I could do with shedding about 25kg from the driver too! LOL.
  11. With a roadster, there is the extra 100kg to worry about too! So carbon fibre used anywhere to lighten the weight must be a good thing. That metal plenum is looking dangerously close to being replaced as part of my modding program, closely followed by that big fat air box and filter.
  12. Although the "quality" aspect of the 350 posts is said with a little tongue in cheek, there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Closed.
  13. You'll get to your 350 posts in time sarnie... LOL
  14. There is now a link to the Member Map on the portal, and on the top menu. You can add yourself to this map using the links on the page. So what are you waiting for, add youself to the map - you may be closer to fellow members than you realise.. Hope this is of use to you all! Thanks, Chris.

  16. From time to time, the google spider indexes the site, and can show up as lots of guests connecting. The IP adresses for all the connections are the same. Though there are quite a few guests lurking from time to time. Im sure they will register eventually.
  17. I was kinda thinking of going with the missus LOL.
  18. Makes me feel good about having nowt but Tesco 99 in mine.
  19. Quick legal note just in case you ever need it. Any speed restriction or calming measure installed should be constructed in such a manner that driving over the measure at the legal posted limit will cause no damge to the vehicle and/or occupants. If you drive over a 30 limit speed hump at 30 miles per hour, any damage incurred by doing so is considered the fault of the person or persons responsible for the inatallation. Hope all goes well!
